It is not a public university.It is a subsidiary organ of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Islamic University of Technology (IUT) is an educational and research institution in Bangladesh run and funded by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The main objective of IUT is to contribute in developing the human resources of the member states of the OIC, particularly in the fields of engineering, technology and technical education. IUT receives direct endowment from OIC member countries and offers scholarships to its students in the form of free tuition, boarding, lodging and medicare.

Admission Test Application Details is given below
Application Eligibility
a) Both Muslim Male and Female Student can Apply.
b) Candidate must have passed HSC or Equivalent Examination either in 2016 or in 2015
c) Candidates will have option for admission in 4-year Bachelor Programme in the department of CEE, CSE, EEE and MCE only
d) Candidates for the above Programmes must have minimum GPA 4.5 in both S.S.C.(or equivalent) and H.S.C.(or equivalent) Examinations
e) Candidates who passed O-level and A-level Examinations must have scored minimum grade B in each subject (O-level: English, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; A-level: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics)
f) Applicants having cardiac problem or contagious and communicable diseases such as tuberculosis, venereal diseases, AIDS, HIV positive, hepatitis B etc. are ineligible for admission.
How to Apply
Prospective undergraduate students from all the OIC member states with an exception of the host country Bangladesh, can apply following standard procedures (filling up an application form) through the nominating authorities officially appointed by the respective countries.
It is to be noted that candidates may also apply directly through IUT web portals (www.iutoic-dhaka.edu/admission), however, preference will be given to the nominated candidates.
- Education Boards of Bangladesh: Candidates must apply through Teletalk SMS service from 25 August 2016 to 02 October 2016.
- O-Level and A-Level: Candidates must apply through IUT website from 25 August 2016 to 02 October 2016. Then pay the application fee through TeleTalk SMS within 02 October 2016.
